Meet Pastor David
For David Crossley, ministry is not merely about church growth, building funds, and “feel-good” messages. It’s about people. Loving people – despite their past and weaknesses. Developing people – into exactly who God designed them to be. Sending people – to reach their families, local communities, and the world-at-large with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Pastor David understands the hardships of real life. “The world is full of hurting people who have both spiritual and practical needs,” says Pastor David. “They need spiritual food, and natural food. They need spiritual shelter, and natural shelter,” he continues. As a result, Pastor David answered the call to both spiritual and civic leadership – teaching the Gospel from the pulpit, and serving the practical needs of his community as Chief of Staff to State Representative Shanelle Jackson in the Michigan Legislature.
A graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center in Oklahoma, he founded Christ Life Outreach, a street ministry for the homeless; was featured as a Key Note speaker at several national youth conferences; spearheaded campus and single ministries; and was a chaplain for Holy Cross Juvenile Detention Center. Additionally, Pastor David has served as the Youth Pastor (under Bishop Keith A. Butler) at Word of Faith in Phoenix, Arizona; Staff Pastor for the late Bishop Walter E. Bogan in Flint, Michigan; and Executive Pastor at The River Church (under Pastor Marlin Reid) in Southfield, Michigan.
At the heart of Pastor David’s ministry is a love for people. He understands (and has personally overcome) the hardships that plague many believers. For that reason, Awakening Faith Church develops people of all ages with the living, transformative Word of God – from all walks of life – no matter where they have been – no matter what they are currently facing.
