We believe that each of us has been called to change the spiritual climate of our home, neighborhood, city, state, and region. And, our ministry provides the solid biblical teaching, discipleship, spiritual empowerment, and loving support that make that possible.
Awakening Faith Believes...
The Holy Bible
The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths.
One God
There is only one God, distinct in three persons (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit).
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is God the Son. He is 100% God, conceived by the Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit
Jesus has given us the Holy Spirit (the person) who is continually drawing us closer to God, transforming us into the image of Jesus Christ, and empowering us daily. The leadership of the Holy Spirit works in our hearts to teach us all things, and reveals God’s truth to us.
Indwelling of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the normal initial evidence of being baptized in the Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. The early Church was unashamedly Pentecostal. Speaking in tongues, divine healing, prophecy, and other gifts of the Holy Spirit were the norm, not the exception. At Awakening Faith Church, these characteristics are an integral part of our worship experience.
The Name of Jesus
There is final authority in the name of Jesus.
Redemption
Mankind’s only hope of redemption is through Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Salvation
We are saved by grace (which is undeserved and unearned) through faith in Jesus Christ, His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, and not a result of our good works.
The Blood of Jesus
The blood of Jesus (shed on the cross at Calvary) is 100% sufficient to cleanse us of all sins when appropriated individually through repentance and faith.
Christ’s Resurrection & Return
We believe in Christ’s eternal existence as God; His Incarnation and Virgin Birth; His death on the cross for the atonement of our sin; His literal resurrection from the dead; His present ministry of intercession in heaven; and His future return to earth.
One Body in Christ
Christ is the head of the Church, and we (the Body) are one unit – though made up of many parts – operating in various roles and capacities. We have different gifts and functions, according to the grace given to each of us.
Water Baptism
After believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new convert is commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water. This is done in the authority of Jesus.
